Deeds for Derek: Helping a Hiawatha Elementary School Student

I recently reached out to the school staff at Hiawatha Elementary and discovered that one of their students will be having a series of operations this spring that will keep him at home and that he will have limited physical ability to enjoy the warm weather and be outside doing some of the activities he normally would do as he recovers from his medical procedures.

Sunday School families purchased items so that we could put together baskets to share with Derek and his families. Because he likes to draw and enjoys reading adventure and science fiction books and likes Marvel Comic characters a lot and enjoys math games, we filled two baskets with art supplies, games and snacks, along with some hand-made get-well cards.
