Mission Mats for the Homeless

The Mission Committee is excited to announce a new project, making sleeping mats for the homeless and we need your help.  We plan on crocheting or weaving sleeping mats using recycled plastic bags.  We will be collecting grocery bags (HyVee, Fairway, Walmart, Michael’s, etc.) from now through the summer.  We will have a collection box by the side door for your recycled bags.  If you wish to get involved in making the mats let us know.  We can always us a hand flattening bags, cutting them, tying them together and of course crocheting the mats.
