Hope UCC is the receiptant of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) from Mercy Medical Center’s Donation Program.
Our Stewardship Committee began discussing and researching the possibility of having and AED here at our church a number of months ago. Through the guidance of Tod Walker and Cathy Evers, both who have connects with Mercy Medical Center through their work responsibilities, we learned of Mercy’s donation program and completed the application process in mid-August of this year.
In early November, we were informed that we would receive our AED in just a few weeks. Our AED comes complete with pads, battery, carrying case and full warranty, and alarmed cabinet and AED signage. Training will be given on how to use our AED with on-going support. We will need to provide batteries in the future and on-going maintenance of the device.
Placement of our new AED will be handled by our Building and Grounds Team, in consultation with our ThinkSafe representative, who is providing our training on this device.
