We extend our sympathy to the family of The Rev. Robert Elkin as they mourn his recent death. Bob was a faithful pastor of many years and was a member at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Cedar Rapids.
Aaron Butikofer is one of thousands of participants in this year’s RAGBRAI and will be traveling 427 miles, going from Council Bluff to Burlington. It is the 8th flattest route in RAGBRAI history and also considered the 8th easiest route in the history of the event. (RAGBRAI is an annual seven-day bicycle ride across the state and this is the 47th year for the event. RAGBRAI is the oldest, largest and longest recreational bicycle touring event in the world.)
Andrew Butikofer has been enjoying fun and adventures at Pilgrim Heights Camp since Sunday and he will arrive home later today. Aaron and Andrew are the sons of Charlotte and Eric Butikofer, and the grandsons of Cindi Ohrt.
Congratulations to Sam and Max Bloomquist who are participating in several RipRoar Youth Triathlon events this summer. These events include swimming, biking, and running portions for each participant to complete. Max is currently undefeated in seven events over the past two years.
