Grief and the Holidays: Services to Tend to Your Heart
The holidays can be a difficult time when there has been a loss in one’s life. Whether this grief comes from the death of a dear one, a move from one’s home to another setting, or if a transition to a new job has happened – all of these situations, as well as others, can bring a sense of loss.
There are two community services available to anyone who would like to attend in order to experience God’s love and grace through prayers and music chosen especially to offer comfort and peace at a difficult time. Hospice of Mercy is hosting their Love Lights service on Sunday, December 9, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hospice House of Mercy, 315 18th Avenue, Hiawatha. First Congregational United Church of Christ is hosting a Blue Christmas service on Sunday, December 22, at 5:00 p.m. in their chapel.
If you are experiencing sadness and grief, please reach out to Pastor Mary Beth at 393-2400 or mbhartenstein@gmail.come to schedule a time for a time of conversation or to learn more about the services available to help in navigating loss and grief.
