Our Mission and Projects

Hope United Church of Christ has always had a strong mission focus. Some of the projects that we undertake include:

• Collecting school supplies for Hiawatha Elementary
• Participating in the Cedar Rapids area CROP WALK
• Sponsoring a child through Global Ministries of the United Church of Christ
• Thanksgiving baskets
• Santa for a Senior
• Adopt a local elementary school family at Christmas
• Support local food pantries
• Support all Five National offerings of the United Church of Christ
• Knitters and crocheters gather weekly to make prayer shawls and other items
• Booth at Cedar Rapids PRIDE

Fellowship and Connection

Fellowship events for all members of the congregation are ways in which we connect with each other.

• Our Lunch Bunch dines out at local restaurants each month
• We attend plays, concerts, Kernels games, and other events
• Outdoor worship services with barbeques are held as well as potluck meals
• Fellowship hours are held weekly after worship services

Yearly Fundraisers

Yearly fundraisers bring members and friends together for fellowship and to raise funds for the church.

• Spring Boutique showcases flowers, crafts, and homemade pies
• Garage sales are often held in summer
• Our annual Beef Dinner is held the in November
• Once Again It’s Christmas, held in November, offers homemade goods and gently used Christmas items for sale
