Christian Education Coordinator
We are seeking a part-time (10-15 hours per week) Christian Education Coordinator (CEC) for our welcoming church in the greater Cedar Rapids area. We are seeking an innovator who recognizes that children’s ministry is changing, and who brings new ideas of how to reach children and their families with the stories of our faith.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Direct and develop the Sunday School, Children’s Church and summer Vacation Bible School programs for children in preschool – 5th grade
- Enlist volunteers to teach and serve in the program
- Coordinate with the pastor, Christian Education Visioning team and church leadership to develop a whole family approach to Christian education
- Plan other special events throughout the year
Qualifications:
- Be a person of personal faith eager to share that faith with others
- Experience working with children in a church or school setting
- Ability to manage a multi-faceted program
- Strong organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
