Sunday School Highlights Stories of Our Faith and More
Our 2019 – 2020 Sunday School program began in early September with nearly 20 children participating on that opening Sunday as they enjoyed stories and games. Throughout the month of September, the focus was on First Testament stories about God’s Big Plan (creation), Noah, and Abraham. During the lesson about Noah, teachers Cathy Evers and Denise Gruwell had the children and youth tell and learn through the story through the use of puppets.
As October unfolded, the stories included Joseph the Dreamer, Moses – Baby in a Basket, and Moses and the Burning Bush.
On Sunday, October 13, 14 children and youth went to the Hiawatha Fire Department to learn about fire safety. Thank you to Regan Bloomquist and Kayla Buck for arranging this field trip.
During November, students will continue to learn stories from the First Testament and go shopping for the family they will help for the holiday. The Advent and Christmas seasons will be a part of their learning in December.
There will be no Sunday School on Sunday, December 29. We will resume our program on Sunday, January 5.
