Congregational Meeting Affirms Plans for Renovation Project

On Sunday, May 5, a congregational meeting was held updating members and friends about our renovation project, which included the decision not to include any additional new space but a fiscally responsible decision to update and enhance the space that we currently have.

In a few weeks, we hope to begin this renovation project that will include: resigned and additional kitchen space, additional fellowship space, redesigned and accessible bathrooms, refreshing the space with new paint and flooring, and more.

This part of our building, which is being renovated, has served the congregation of Hope United Church of Christ, along with the community of Hiawatha and the greater Cedar Rapids area, for 50 years. And now when it is completed, this renovation will allow us to have an improved space for our many events: Once Again Christmas, Spring Boutique, Beef Dinner, Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, special events, fellowship and so much more.

Thank you to the members and friends of Hope United Church of Christ, to the Building and Renovation Team, and to the church leadership for your work to bring this project about so that we might continue to offer extravagant hospitality, offer mission and ministry to the greater community, and to be a place that feel warm, inviting and welcoming.

Now … who has that sledge hammer?
