Neighbors in Need Offering – Sunday, October 4
The United Church of Christ Neighbors in Need offering will be collected at Hope UCC on Sunday, October 4.
This offering supports the UCC’s ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States. Two-thirds of the offering is used by the UCC’s Justice and Witness Ministries to fund a wide array of local and national justice initiatives, advocacy efforts and direct service projects. You might remember that our “neighbors” to the east in Anamosa, received a grant from the Neighbors in Need offering to help fund their weekend lunch supplement program. The Neighbors in Need offering also supports our American Indian Neighbors in the UCC. One third of the offering supports the UCC’s Council on American Indian Ministries (CAIM). Today there are 20 UCC congregations on reservations and one urban, multi-tribal UCC congregation in Minneapolis, MN. This offering is one of five special offerings that we collect in the United Church of Christ. Please give generously toward this special offering.
