House Churches: Gathering for Conversation and Fellowship

The Council is striving to make short and long term goals and plans for Hope United Church of Christ and every member and guest’s input is vital to this process. Therefore, the Council has authorized the Parish Relations Committee to plan, organize and implement a series of House Churches, where individuals and families will gather to have conversation about Hope UCC. It is the goal of the Parish Relations Committee to have these House Church gatherings take place between the end of October – end of November. All members and guests of Hope UCC will be assigned to a House Church gathering.

A leader will provide specific questions to help stimulate the conversation in areas that will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Name some of our past successes and what feelings did those generate.
  • Name some events, programs and ministries that are currently successful for us.
  • What are some things that might need to be changed in order to be the best church we can be?
  • What are some events, programs, and ministries that we ought to consider in our future?

The Parish Relations Committee is seeking leaders to help guide groups that gather as well as individuals and/or couples who are willing to host a House Church gathering. A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board in the main entryway or contact any member of the Parish Relations Committee, Andrew Buck – Council Chairperson, or Pastor Mary Beth if you have questions or wish to volunteer to be a leader or to host a gathering.
