Faith in Action ~ Sunday, June 26

Sounds of sand paper rubbing against recently cut wood, the smell of Snickerdoodles freshly baked, and the clicking of knitting needles putting yarn in a pattern, these were all happening as we gathered on our first Faith in Action Sunday.  Whether one was five years old or sixty five years old, there was something for everyone to do as we participated in a variety of community service projects, which included:

  • Knitting prayer squares
  • Working on a Little Lending Library
  • Baking and delivering cookies for the Hiawatha Fire Department
  • Tying yarn for quilts
  • Assembling 25 hygiene kits for the homeless
  • Purchasing and delivering snacks and a meal to the Ronald McDonald Room, St. Luke’s Hospital

Thank you to everyone who shared their time and their gift of presence to make a difference in our community and for our community.
