Faith in Action Sunday ~ July 30
“Faith in action is love – and love in action is service,” wrote Mother Teresa in her book, Love: A Fruit Always in Season.
On Sunday, July 30, those who gather here at Hope United Church of Christ will once again dedicate part of our morning to actually putting our faith into action by participating in a variety of projects here on site. Some will benefit our own faith community; some will benefit the greater Cedar Rapids area. Here are some of the opportunities that you will be able to choose from:
- Chefs of Hope: Making a meal for the guests of Willis Dady Shelter
- Tie One On : Finishing quilts for Camp Courageous
- Sole Shoes: Making shoes out of denim (please bring a pair of scissor to cut fabric)
- Gift Bags: Filling bags with personal care items for guests of Olivet Mission
- Wish List: Donations for Westover Manor Senior Apartments
(Donate: paper plates, cups, napkins, plastic cutlery, yarn, scrap book paper,
construction paper, and
paints)
- Clean up! Clean up! Everyone do their share! Small projects around our church building and grounds
Come ready to worship. Come ready to put your faith in action. Come ready for fellowship.
